The first fresh greens

Yesterday, Ross and I enjoyed our first garden salad of the year. The pickings were a bit slim, but enjoyable none the less! Some people were surprised by how early they were available – we didn’t do anything too special: we just planted them in containers, germinated them inside in a warm area (on top of our radiators), then moved them outside. We were careful to bring them in if there was a frost, but since our back deck gets several good hours of sunlight every day, they thrived! Here are some photos of them in their containers; keep in mind that we harvested the best bits for dinner last night! Image
